Delivering record
cost of living relief

Delivering record cost of living relief for Queenslanders, including $1000 off your power bill, 20% off your rego, and %200 FairPlay vouchers.

$1000 off your Power Bill

We’re taking $1,000 off every Queensland household’s energy bill. This means the average household won’t pay a cent on their next quarterly energy bill after July 1.

This is only possible because the Miles Government are:

  • Making multinational mining companies pay their fair share by increasing coal royalties.
  • Keeping energy assets in public hands.
  • Building cheaper, cleaner energy through our Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan.

20% off your Rego

Starting from September 16, 2024, registration fees for light vehicles, including trailers, in Queensland will be reduced by 20% for one year to help ease cost-of-living pressures.

This reduction, which applies to both the registration fee and the Traffic Improvement Fee (TIF), will appear on vehicle registration notices starting August 5, 2024, and is in addition to existing concessions.

$200 FairPlay Vouchers to keep even more kids active

Starting July 1, 2024, Queensland’s FairPlay program will offer $200 vouchers per child aged 5 to 17 to help offset the rising cost of junior sports. The program has expanded, increasing the number of available vouchers from 50,000 to 200,000, with a limit of one voucher per child per financial year.
